Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to receive an IV infusion?

An IV therapy process may take between 30 minutes to 1 hour.  It is a great time to relax, read a book or socialize with a friend. If you don't have 30 minutes in a day to spare for IV therapy, Kaia IV Therapy can come to you! Kaia IV Therapy offers mobile IV Therapy to the South Bay Area to improve your wellness and nutrition anywhere.

Will I feel better immediately?

You may feel positive results immediately, when treating a hangover or jet lag.  Several treatments may be necessary to achieve results in other cases.  Certain drips are specifically designed for long-lasting effects such as skin hydration, hair and nail health, improved immunity, collagen production and memory. At the end of an IV therapy most of our clients say the feel invigorated, full of life and ready to tackle the rest of their day.

Is an IV Therapy better than drinking water?

How should I prepare for my IV Therapy Session?

IV hydration is a great way to rehydrate in a hurry because IV fluids are dispersed rapidly throughout the body. While an IV therapy program has many benefits, we always encourage our clients to drink plenty of water every day to maintain healthy hydration.

The night before, we suggest you drink fluids to remain hydrated. You must be asking, won't the IV rehydrate me? The minerals and vitamins infused via IV are dehydrating at the cellular level and your body will be more responsive if you are hydrated before hand. Also, when our clients are low on fluids, it makes the veins less likely to be visible. Drink a few glasses of water before your appointment to prepare.

Complete your IV hydration and Vitamin intake form online prior to coming in. This is vital for our RNs to recognize what allergies you may have and what may be the best IV therapy for you.

Don't forget to eat.  You can bring a meal or a smoothie to help make sure you have something in your system.

Be comfortable! Wear comfortable clothes. Please don't dress up for your IV. We recommend a short sleeved top or sleeves that can be rolled up above the elbow. Bring a comfy blanket to stay warm.  We want this experience to be as comfortable as possible for you.

What should you bring to your IV Therapy session?

An IV therapy session takes one hour.  We encourage you to hydrate before and during the session.  Bring a blanket and a good book to read or music and AirPods to enjoy while your therapy session is ongoing.

What should I know after I receive my IV Therapy?

Minor Pain at the injection site is a normal side effect.  You may place a cold compress for pain.

Some vitamins and add-ons can cause a slight headache.  This is normally especially if this is your first time receiving these add-ons during IV therapy

Avoid rough contact on the injection site for a couple days following treatment.
